Full Version: Less scrolling!

Would it be possible to have only 10 or 20 posts per page? At the moment it seems to be set to 50.

Thanks
Joe in Philly
I prefer the scrolling to having to go from page to page.

If we have fewer topics per page we'll have a lot more pages and it will be harder to navigate. you can always search within a forum for a particular topic.

Well, I would still prefer more pages. How can anyone disagree!? Clicking on "next page" is surely more user-friendly than so much MINDLESS scrolling. Go on Jim, change the setting on a couple of forums as an experiment to see what the reaction is.

Or is there some way of going directly to the latest post in a thread which I am missing?

Not sure what you mean.

Jim, What I mean is, suppose yesterday a thread I have been following had, say, 40 posts. Today, when I log on I see from the forun index that it now has 41. How do I go direct to post 41 without bothering with the stuff I have already read?

If you press END on your keyboard, it will take you to the bottom of the page, and you can scroll up to find the last thread you read previously. It is easier than scrolling down all the way.

Ditto!

On worldcrossing, nytimes, and cnnsi, you just have to click on the 'new messages' and skip the old posts. Not sure if this is possible on this board.

There is no way to automatically go to the bottom of a current thread (hitting the ``end'' key is quickest). To view just those topics posted today click on ``today's active topics'' in the upper right.
