I'm not as much of a sports fan as a lot of you guys, but coming to this board has helped me have conversations with my brothers that have left them scratching my head- so, thanks for contributing to my continuing evolution. Most of the gay guys I meet, including the ones who don't sound like steam escaping look at sports as the antithesis of everything "gay". When I proposed one autumn Sunday that we cuddle while we watch the Giants , it was like "Ewwwwwww. Football?" In my family, that's how it was done. We went to 12:00 Mass, and were home in time for the 1pm kickoff. I clearly need to meet a better class of people. Pete

The guys at the station can't figure out why I know so much about sports all of a sudden. They dont realize I know all the good lookin players from the comments on here." yep - that Mike Piazza is one damn good ball player - Chipper Jones really nailed that baby didn't he! We need a player like Brad Ausmus on our team " ROTFLMAO.

hey NOTYOUTHEDOG!

welcome man! Let me guess.... you're an irish catholic from Massapequa, L.I. or somewhere thereabouts. eh?

anyway... like I always said.... sports is not the antithesis of being gay. sports is a way to re-affirm how great it is to be gay. Buff dudes, tight clothes! Yowza!

anyway, hope this will help you get some cuddling primetime sports in. and remember.... the worldcup being played in the middle of the night makes for great snuggling on couch while watching..... or it's just good for some self gratification while watching the beautiful men run around. know what I mean?

but still... you should pick a better NFL team to cuddle to than the Giants.

Hey Ung- Close. Grew up in Hicksville, but my brother lives in Massapequa. Big Irish Italian Catholic family. Generations of Yankee and Giants fans. When I was a kid, I had a major crush on Tom Seaver. I'm pretty sure that what would have driven my dad over the edge was that I had the hots for a Met, not that he was a guy, As for the Giants, Angie Harmon can stay in Dallas, I'll keep Jason Sehorn occupied.

Jason Sehorn? That crybaby? You can keep him. The giant I really liked was Phil Simms. That hot bod, that southern drawl. ooooh baby!

so tell me Dawg..... You're from a big irish catholic long island family (you and Edward Burns must have been neighbours) How could you not have been into sports before? That scenario is impossible!

No athletic ability, whatsoever. That was my brother's department. He's 16 mos younger than me. When my father went to sign him up, I got dragged along too. In baseball, I was in right field, where it seemed no one ever hit the ball. But after a while, even that was too dangerous so I wound up as the scorekeeper. Wound up going out for Freshman football, to keep my father happy- decided to do it the night before. In the gym that day, they had us fill, out 3x5 cards and writing out the position you wanted to play. I copied off the kid next to me and wrote running back. I have the build of a tackle, but got cut on the 3rd day. I learned how to fix the equipment, and got in good with the coaches. I am probably the only boy in New York State who graduated from High School without taking gym. I knew I was gay, nobody else did, and I wanted to keep it that way. Grew up hating the Yankees- my dad would say "Boys, the lawn needs to be cut", and my brother would say "Dad, the Yankees are on", and my dad would say, "Peter, cut the lawn"
I think that's why I had a crush on Tom Seaver- the fact he was a Met would've been more of a problem than me being gay. Pete
