Granted, it's boxing so it's not like we're dealing with first-class individuals anyway. And it's not even involving heavyweights, which are the only boxers most people care about. I guess we should be happy he didn't threaten to rape someone, like Tyson did a few years ago.
I am really not surprised, the comparison of an opponent to a gay guy is simply a function of the stereotype that gay=weak. What we need is Esera Tuolo to meet up with this boxer, and then he would see how weak a gay man can be!
On a related note, I did not know that Michael Jordan has also been known to use anti-gay slurs. He apparently was quoted last year using one to insult a team-mate he thought was not practicing hard enough, but wasn't called on it by the media, probably because he's Jordan.
