Today's Denver Post has an article on Corey Johnson speaking to Colorado high school coaches about gay high school athletes. Interesting story:

Very good article. Corey is da man. biggrin.gif

And they have a poll running on that page: "Would you have a problem with your son or daughter playing on a sports team with a gay teammate?"

Total Votes = 651
Of course not (453) 70%
I'd feel a little uncomfortable (45) 7%
I wouldn't like it, but I'd allow it (68) 10%
I'd take my kid off the team (79) 12%
Not sure (6) 1%

Another great story about Corey -- thanks for posting it Sooner....it's no wonder that he remains such an inspiration to so many people and I'm thrilled to see that he has been traveling around the country speaking to youth groups and schools....the article states that he has received over 10,000 e-mails (over 98% supportive) which is a testament to the impact that Corey's courage has had upon so many gay teens worldwide.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Corey spoke at the conference earlier this year in Boston....perhaps Jim and Cyd can get him to appear as one of the guest speakers at next year's 2nd annual Outsports convention.

The latest results show 61% have no problem.

I suppose the number is better than in past but still 39% are either somewhat uncomfortable or totally uncomfortable. We still have a long way to go.

True ... but not surprising.

Anyway, great article. smile.gif
