I had the extreme pleasure of meeting South African Olympic beach volleyball player, Leigh-Ann Naidoo, at a Gay Games function here in Chicago last Friday night. Leigh-Ann was part of the first women's African team to qualify for the Olympics in beach volleyball.

Sara Waddell Lewinstein was also a guest speaker at this same function, but the highlight for me was chatting with Leigh-Ann and her partner, Kelly. They are living in Chicago while her doctor-to-be gf is going to medical school.

I have to say I was completely enthralled with both Leigh-Ann and Kelly. They were SO friendly, intelligent and beautiful.

So is she planning to compete in the Gay Games, then? If beach volleyball is one of the sports, that is? I'm wondering how many have participated in both the Gay Games and Olympics.

It was cute Leigh-Ann was trying to convince Kelly to play with her in the Games as well as our Chicago Friday night beach league.
