Do you know the news about the Real Madrid player Helguera coming out of the closet? He will be on the next Zero magazine cover.
He seems to play for our team too.

Is this for real?? That should be a headline on this site if it is.

I heard a Real Madrid player was thinking of coming out but I didnt know which one it was supposed to be. I was hoping it was Morientes, but ah well...

The outing of Helguera has been cited not only by the gay media but by the sports news channels here. In fact there are people of the gay Zero magazine in the training everyday. It seems that Zero is threatening Helguera and they will out him if he doesnt come out now.

Don't know whether this is authentic or a hoax (or just a bad translation on my part) but Perhaps Ivan Helguera is "outing" himself

Hi Sportinlife. In fact he officially came out yesterday on "The day before" (one of the most popular sports programs).After giving the trophy to the prettiest player according to the public (Solari) they asked to Helguera:

To be fair this is not the best picture of Solari , but I think that there are best looking players like Tristan , De Lucas , Morientes or Raul.
Posted the message here because there were only rumours about his sexuality but now that's for sure.
BTW there seems to be a coming out fever here since the last Zero cover was about the outing of a politician , this month's one is about the outing of a spanish olimpic medallist and hopefully the nest cover will be about Helguera.

he is a very sexy guy and a damn good soccer player too. lets hope the rumors are true he would be a great guy to be the first to come out in a major world sport

It's true there are better pictures of Solari, who has classic Castillan good looks, but looking into Helguera's dark deepset eyes is mesmerizing. He's sort of ruggedly handsome and more interesting.

The fact that he's matter of fact and direct about his sexuality is also appealing.

Definitely a turn-on.

marc24, where is "here"? I've searched "'Ivan Helguera' gay" in English, Spanish, current news, newsgroups and the Zero Mag Website, all to no avail. If he has taken steps out of the closet, he's been awfully selective about it.

No idea whether the Real Madrid player was mentioned. But there was a politician on their most recent cover, so Marc is not completely loco. It looks pretty slick, mainstream, with covers featuring Almodovar, Javier Bardem, a gay cop/army guy, and a gay or gay friendly priest.

The rest is a bit literal - always bad in translations - but you can get the general idea.
