May wonders never cease: The day Utah taxpayers feared would never arrive finally came... when all the extra sales tax we paid to build the Utah Olympic Oval (speed skating) and Utah Olympic Park (luge, bobsled, skeleton, ski jumping) was paid back by the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, plus $40 million to maintain them for the forseeable future.

For those of you still pissed about the costs, consider this: The Utah Olympic Speed Skating Oval cost $30 million and now has almost every record either set at the Olympics or in previous competitions at every distance. The speed skating ovals in Nagano (the "M Wave") and Lillehammer (That ship-looking thing) cost $300 million each.

Where was that? Hockey happened at the Delta Center, right? Something was at Weber State in Ogden, and there were other events at a place called Kearns. Educate us, oh utahman4u.
