We're headed up there next week. I've been bidding on tickets on ebay but heard that there is a sanctioned space for scalpers. Do any of you local guys know this to be true and if so, where do I find the sellers when I get there?

Sorry, I never saw this or would have responded sooner. There are "ticket exchange" places all over the downtown SLC area. Some are legit and have licenses to trade (scalping is legal in Utah as long as they have a business license).

Others are just walking around outside venues or near the medals plaza area downtown hawking tickets. The official places I saw were on 3rd (300) west and 2nd (200) South. (That's 3 blocks west and 2 blocks south of Temple Square).

I was downtown yesterday and they were selling or trading tickets all over the place. A lot of them were for the medals plaza/concerts. Those events were all free to start with so I guess some people stood in line all day just so they could later sell them. Or they traded them for events tickets.
