Will those two be up there when I'm there tomorrow and Saturday? wink
When I read "something of which everyone on this board is sick" I thought this would have to do with G--- K-----.

I'm teaching Romeo and Juliet in a Lit class tomorrow...I'll steal this picture if you don't mind. Yankee fans and Red Sox fans are the closest thing I know in contemporary society to the Capulets and the Montagues.. I wonder if my midwestern college students will understand just how much in love these guys must be to have transcended all that hatred...I hope we don't see them at Fenway this weekend in some kind of suicide pact...Great photo, Orsino!

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but it's a newspaper cover photo. Most probably staged.
But I thought the sentiment was nice.
And bears are hot.
Actually, Buccoman, I thought the rival gangs analogy used in Baz Luhrmann's film was more appropriate, since Red Sox and Yankee fans aren't killing each other in the streets. The film was overdone, but I liked the way he chose to modernize the story. If you wanted to go with a sports fan analogy, you'd have to turn to the Italian soccer league.

Let's give credit where credit is due. That modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet owes a lot to Leonard Berstein and West Side Story. Luhrmann didn't pull that out of thin air.

actually i found some information out about the photo from some friends on live journal. the couple is actually gay, the photo was somewhat staged i think they were asked if the picture could be taken. the reason the photo was taken was for a couple of reasons. the Photographer or editor of the paper or something wanted to take it for a couple of reasons, one it was the day massachusets approved gay marriage and he wanted to throw out the possiblity that the tensions between red sox an yankees is all just sexual frustration hahaha i am trying to find the links and articles.

I know I have definetely been sexually frustrated by some of those Yankees and a lot of those Red Sox, namely V-tek, Mueller, Nixon, & Wakefield.

Never. Ever. Date a "musician/actor", gay or otherwise.
"Currently, I'm lucky enough to be dating someone who makes me deliriously happy. But I'm always on the look out for new friends who know how to have fun..."
So, he's "dating" someone but still wants to fool around? Oh, his lucky boyfriend!
JeffWa

ok how do you get from he is on the lookout for friends who know how to have fun to he is dating someone but still wants to fool around on the side? maybe he wants friends who want to go on roller coasters for fun or movies or friends who want to have "fun" by going to a baseball game. And what does that have to do with the relevance of the photograph? in the post the way he talks about the other guy in the photo with him, sounds like the guy is his boyfriend.
