Ian Thorpe was in the news today. Unfortunately, it was not because his Speedos were so tight that they blew apart from the strain. Rather, he lost his balance on the starting block of the 400-meter freestyle meet and fell in the pool. The rule is one strike, and you're out, even if you're the holder of the world record in the event. Accordingly he will not swim in the Olympics in that event.
