Anyone know if they are going to replay the opening? I missed it and everyone keeps talking about how great it was.

I would doubt it. They replayed each night's prime-time coverage during the middle of the night. According to my TV guide they were replaying tonight's closing ceremonies at 11:35 pm. Since I was watching my usual Sunday night Fox and HBO shows, I figure I can watch it now. So the local news ends on the NBC station and then the next thing that comes on is Bob Costas, saying that the closing ceremonies are still going on...they actually INTERRUPTED the closing ceremonies for the news! I don't know if all the stations did this or just the one here. But that is incredibly pathetic, and unprecedented in my memory.

I recorded it. Maybe we could work out a way to get you a copy.

I didn't see the closing ceremonies, but I did read about them this morning. For those of you who saw both the opening and closing, which was better, and why?

I liked the closing ceremony better, just because it means I never have to see that damn kid with the lantern again.

I liked him BUT he did seem a bit contrived.- Like "LOOK- this is SYMBOLIC!"

Well, I did stay up until it ended and set up the VCR to tape the replay, which began right after the original broadcast ended. (And as it turns out, Bob Costas announced the break for the local news. I'm now wondering if the last 45 minutes was shown on tape delay or did we miss 35 minutes entirely.) But I appreciate the offer. Do you have anything else I might want to see?

I was flipping between the American NBC broadcast and the Canadian CBC broadcast for the Closings, and I'm wondering if you guys ever got to see the very cool neon painting of the ice or the very cool neon stick figures dancing? I think NBC was in commercial-mode at that time?

N'Sync did well with the anthem, Moby was okay, Kiss was unnecessary, and Earth, Wind & Fire, anytime. Bon Jovi - sounded like he was actually singing??

I loved the Italian Mayor passionately waving the Olympic flag - saying "bring it on!"

Seph, NBC didn't have the stick figures ice skating, which was cool in person, glad SOMEBODY got to see it! The painting stuff at the end of that sequence was on here (the U.S.) THEY TOTALLY CUT OUT THE VERY BIGGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF THE U.S.A. and went to local news all over the country. NBC said it was because of pressure from their East Coast affiliates... (so why not keep sending the signal and let each station decide if they want to show 4 more minutes or have local news and commercials??!!!!)

The local NBC affiliate here had their own cameras and showed the rest of the fireworks as part of the first 5 minutes of the news and will replay them twice this week.
