- Actual scores are hard to come
by up here, so we'll report them on Saturday's games, but
won't be able to before then. Sorry
- Weather: still beautiful,
sunny, slight breeze, maybe 80.
- Last night at the talent show
I finally got a glimpse of the DC Gamecocks who sang a
Disney song about blowjobs and their rendition of the
traditional favorite, "Take Me Home From the
Ballgame."
- I spoke with Bob Burnham of
Boston, who is being inducted this weekend to the NAGAAA
Hall of Fame. Now gray and retired, Burnham has been
an active member of the gay sports community for over two
decades, helping start the Gay Games in San Francisco in
1980 and playing on and managing Boston softball teams for
18 years - including managing the Boston Frits 1992 World
Series Championship team.
- Also spoke with Gary Staples
of Boston - inducted last year into the NAGAAA Hall of
Fame. Burham calls Gary "the best gay athlete to
come out of Boston." He jokingly added, "he
also played bottom for the Nebraska baseball team in
college." Staples is presently the manager at the bar
Fritz - who have been sponsoring the softball team for
years.
- Fritz was eliminated from the
World Series today with an 0-2 record in double elimination
play.
- Two teams to add to the Twin
Cities Boom as nominees for hottest team: LA
Destroyers and Virginia Cavaliers.
- Womenmoto.com, the team we
featured yesterday in the Women's Alt Division, continues to
perform. The #23 seed from San Diego is now 3-0 having
beaten the #10, #7, and #2 teams.
- In the C Division, the Boston
Shamrock Stallions, sponsored by the Shamrock hotel in
Provincetown, is also kicking ass and taking name. The
#22 seed is one of four undefeated teams left and has a
great shot at winning it all. Their designated hitter
is Bill Konigsberg, an openly gay editor at ESPN.com. While Bill lives in Hartford, he commutes to
Boston every weekend to play with his team. Konigsberg
says that, not only is he the only openly gay ESPN employee,
he hasn't even heard a rumor about anyone else. Go
Stallions!
- Billy Bean's Ft. Lauderdale
team opted not to show up.
- In each division, there is a
different homer rule. In the A Division, a team can only hit
six in a game. In the B Division, a team can hit only
three. In C, it's one. The Stray Cats continue
to push that six homer limit to the max.
- A little cheer I heard
today: "2-4-6-8. Stroke it like you
masturbate. Whack it. Whack it.
Whaaaaaaack it."
- A&F Tally: 12
sightings (including the seven at the talent show).
- The game of the day was in the
B Division and saw #6 San Diego's Rich's team eliminate #3
Chicago Spin in two extra innings by a score of 10-9.
- The Seattle Monarchs' second
baseman, Michael, is getting plenty of attention from the
boys at the Series. And, with more and more teams
being eliminated, he, a long with all the other boys and
girls out here, will be getting plenty more attention.
- I spent a good amount of time
talking to Bubba
D. Licious this afternoon after watching her tear the
house down at the talent show last night. The former
NAGAAA commissioner is the only drag queen to serve as
commissioner. I'll have pieces of my conversation with
her tomorrow.

There are rumors that NAGAAA commissioners

rumors about both teams have floated around all week. The
Stingers won the game on the field. More tomorrow.
