2004 Chelsea Challenge
The 2004
Chelsea Challenge was the largest to date, featuring 10 teams with
players from as far away as Mozambique and Sweden. Teams in the
recreational division represented Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington,
D.C., Vancouver and New York.
The finals of the develomental division
saw Team Red outscore Team Blue, 2-0. Vancouver outlasted the
Orphans, 2-1, to win the championship. It was the second year in a
row that the Orphans came up short in the finals. The Orphans had
beaten Vancouver the day before in pool play, 3-2, on a shot from
Charlie Mulkeen with 13 seconds left in the game.
