2004 Outsports
Convention Gallery 2 The 2004 Outsports Convention was held the weekend before Memorial Day in Philadelphia. About 25 participants came from all over the country (and Canada). Speakers included Helen Carroll from NCLR's Homophobia in Sports Project and local sports personalities. Notable victories that weekend were by the Philadelphia Phillies (whom convention-goers watched beat the San Diego Padres Saturday night as the Flyers went down to the Tampa Bay Lightning), Joe In Philly who won the second annual trivia contest, beating out Eddie in "overtime," and the scavenger hunt team lead by PhillyRunner, who just edged out Joe's team.
