ATLANTA
– The Atlanta Bucks
Rugby Football Club was the Open Division champion of the
East Coast Invitational held Saturday, Nov. 13 in
New York,

The Bucks defeated three teams to
claim their tournament victory, an amazing feat considering the
team only formed in 2003 and had won just one game previously.
In Game 1, the Bucks scored three
tries and shut out the Philadelphia Gryphons B side 17-0.
In Game 2 against
New York’s
Gotham Knights C side, the Bucks kept the Knights scoreless
until the last play of the game, beating the Knights 8-7. In
Game 3, the Bucks held the
Washington,
D.C.
Renegades to just one penalty kick, winning 5-3.
The Gotham Knights A side won the
Premier Division of the East Coast Invitational.
Former NFL player Esera Tuaolo
presented the trophies to the winning teams.
