Dallas Awarded 2004 Gay
Softball World Series
The Dallas Series 2004 Committee is proud to announce Dallas/Fort Worth as the site of the 2004 North American Gay Amateur
Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) World Series.
The Dallas Series 2004 Committee traveled to Portland, Oregon this week to present it’s bid in competition with Houston, Texas
before the national NAGAAA governing board.
The NAGAAA Series—unofficially known as the "Gay Softball World Series"—will bring over 8,000 people to Dallas & Fort
Worth in August 2004. With the support of Mayor Millers office, the city councils of Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Arlington, and the
Texas Visitors bureau we were well equipped with the resources and support necessary to secure an event expected to generate
revenues of over $4.5 Million dollars for the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.
The five-day tournament will kick-off with opening ceremonies, events throughout the week and capped with a Cedar Springs
Block party/awards ceremony. Proceeds generated from this event will benefit The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation,
The Walt Whitman Community School, and the John Thomas Gay & Lesbian Community Center.
