Tennis great Martina Navratilova wrote a column for Visible Vote about her thoughts on politics, next year’s election and gay rights. It’s interesting to me to see Martina labeled an “activist,” as that’s not how I’ve ever seen her. Yes, she’s a strong, positive voice for gay rights; but she’s always been a tennis player first to me, I guess in part because that’s where her voice and her visibility come from.
