  • A front-page article on the New York Times takes a look at concussions in high school football.
  • According to a study by Scarborough Sports Marketing, Pittsburgh has more female sports fans than any other American city; it's followed by Green Bay, Buffalo, Cincinnati and Kansas City.
  • Woody Austin, paired with Tiger Woods in the third round of The Players Championship, said before the round that Tiger Woods is beatable. Austin was three shots behind Woods at the time; he's now eight shots back. Woods may be beatable; but Austing is just unable to beat him.
