Adrian, a lacrosse player from California, is one of 26 athletes who were out in college or high school and featured in “Fearless,” a photographic essay by Jeff Sheng.

Many of the athletes have been profiled on Outsports, such as Andrea Zimbardi, Andrew Goldstein, Matt Coin, Jordan Goldwarg and Ryan Quinn. Among the goals Sheng cites for the project are:

–To increase acceptance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth in high schools and colleges

–To decrease homophobia in athletics.

The site lists cities where Sheng will bring his exhibit, so if it’s in your area it would be worth your while to check it out. —Jim Buzinski
