As I write this, the game between the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins has just resumed after a delay. After a disputed call led to the ejection of Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, fans at the Metrodome began throwing debris, including (according to the Twins announcers) baseball caps and a baseball, onto the field. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen pulled his team off the field while an announcement was made over the public address system and the debris was removed.

Once again, I'll wait for the national media to howl with outrage, as they always manage to do whenever the slightest thing happens in a game involving a Philadelphia team.

And once again, I'll wait in vain. — Joe Guckin
