I keep waiting for the Denver Broncos to wake up and realize they are supposed to be mediocre. But they keep surprising me and their 34-23 win at the San Diego Chargers on Monday night convinces me they are legit.

Denver used two kick returns for touchdowns by Eddie Royal and a suffocating defense to win at San Diego for the first time in four years. The Broncos have not allowed a point in the fourth quarter, which is amazing considering they have played some pretty good offenses (the Cowboys, Patriots and Chargers). At 6-0, the Broncos have a three-game lead in the AFC West over San Diego, which continues to be the most underachieving team in the league. Now, about those ugly Denver throwback socks — throw 'em back!
