French Rugby signs anti-homphobia charter

The French Ministry of Sport has presented its Charter Against Homophobia in Sport, and the French Rugby League Federation has become the first national sports federation to sign the charter. Gareth Thomas was on hand at the signing ceremony. The charter includes six commitments, including:

Repudiate and take appropriate sanctions against any homophobic attitude, whether manifested in discriminatory behavior or by verbal or physical abuse or abusive language on the grounds of real or supposed sexual orientation.

You can read an English translation of the full charter here. It's based on the charter developed by Paris Foot Gay.

Hat tip to Marc Naimark at the Federation of Gay Games.
