Brendan and Brian Burke
A horse is a horse, of course of course…. Sorry I just couldn't resist. This has been in the works for a while, but on Sunday Toronto Maple Leafs Gm Brian Burke donated a horse to the Toronto Police Mounted unit. The horse was named "Moose," which apparently was the nickname of his late son, Brendan Burke.
Patrick Burke told us that gay rights have also been named a "priority" by the Toronto Police Department, and they want to use Moose to show support and inclusion. Another example of the work the Burke family is doing to bring attention to the needs of the gay community.
