Daniel Puder's 'My Life My Power' organization fights bullying in schools

New, comments

While Ben Cohen's Stand Up foundation to fight bullying has gotten lots of attention in the gay community, MMA fighter Daniel Puder has created a pretty fantastic anti-bullying and self-worth program himself. My Life My Power is a school-based program that recruits high school students who carry the positive messages to younger students in the district. It's genius. I remember idolizing high school students and athletes as a kid; They are the perfect messenger for something like this. From Facebook:

In school systems, we install the MLMP club program first into a high school. From there, the high school kids adopt a Jr. high and elementary school. This involves the high school students going into each school one time each month to teach them a different lesson. There are 8 lessons totaling one per month for the academic school year. This can be at lunchtime or after school for 30-60 minutes depending on what works best for the individual school’s MLMP Club.

The organization is hosting a charity concert in Los Angeles on Thursday. You can find more information in their press release.
