We can’t say enough about the work being done by GLSEN’S Changing the Game project. While so many other organizations preach to the choir or hope the voices of celebrities do the talking for us, Pat Griffin and her crew are taking the message of inclusion where it counts. The latest is the announcement that the National Association for Sport and Physical Education has become a Changing the Game Teammate for Respect. GLSEN says in the announcement:

NASPE’s support of our mission to assist K-12 schools in creating and maintaining athletic and physical education climates that are based on the core principles of respect, safety and equal access for all students, teachers and coaches regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression is critical as we move forward to engage Phys. Ed. Teachers, Athletic coaches and others in this work.

Plus, Griffin and a couple other members of the group’s advisory board will head to the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Conference in Indianapolis this December.

Again, taking the message and the education to the areas that most need it is what this project is doing better than anyone else. Thank you GLSEN and Pat Griffin!
