The International Skating Union announced today the postponement and potential cancellation of this year’s World Figure Skating Championships. The reason: They were supposed to take place in Tokyo next week and nobody thinks that’s a good idea. Former skater Chad Conley (right) told me the chances of the ISU being able to move the event to another place and time are slim; It takes two years to organize the event.

Chad also said it's particularly disappointing for the Americans because this year's US Champion, Ryan Bradley, is 27; At that age, you never know how many years he has left to compete in the World Championships.
