Phoenix Suns president Rick Welts, who came out of the closet in May, has resigned as president of the Phoenix Suns. Welts told The Arizona Republic he is leaving to pursue a romantic relationship in Sacramento.

This isn’t one of those departures to see greener pastures. It really is completely a personal situation. These guys have been tremendously accommodating and any other inference than that is absolutely crazy.
Welts will apparently pursue speaking opportunities and possibly a book deal.
Having lost a previous relationship because of work, it’s no wonder he does not want that to happen again, and we wish Welts all the best.
