Portrait: Australian diver Matthew Mitcham ready for London Olympics

Matthew Mitcham, defending champion in the Olympic 10-meter platform diving, and the rest of the Australian diving team met the media in Brisbane to discuss the London Olympics and pose for photos. Mitcham, who is openly gay and the biggest star of the team with his gold medal from 2008, got the most attention.

"I feel like the underdog again in London," said Mitcham. "I've had a few injuries that have kept me from my best but it is good to go in without all that pressure.

"No one expects me to win and I feel more comfortable when I am in that position. I believe I can win gold again in London. I've done it before and know what it takes."

Australian team: Brittany Broben (10m platform individual), Rachel Bugg (10m platform synchronized), James Connor (10m platform individual), Matthew Mitcham (10m platform individual), Jaele Patrick (3m springboard individual), Anabelle Smith (3m springboard synchronized), Sharleen Stratton (3m springboard individual, synchronized), Ethan Warren (3m springboard individual), Loudy Wiggins (10m platform synchronized), Melissa Wu (10m platform individual).
