It was a pleasant surprise to stumble across this old TV commercial from 1972 featuring the late Jerry Smith hocking Rosenthal Chevrolet. Fellow Redskin Walt Rock appears with Smith in the commercial.

Smith, who once had an affair with David Kopay when the two played together with the Washington Redskins, is believed to be the first professional athlete to die of AIDS, passing away in 1986. I've never seen video of Smith, so stumbling across this today was a treat, despite it being posted on YouTube two years ago.

By the way, it looks like Rosenthal is still selling cars in Arlington. Though I doubt they’re selling anything for $3,089 today.
