Gay Games X will not be held in Brazil. Hoping to become the first South American country to host the games, the committee representing Sao Paulo and Rio di Janeiro has withdrawn its interest in hosting these Games, which would have been held two years after the Summer Olympics. Sydney previously held the Gay Games two years after they hosted the Summer Games.
That leaves five cities as potential hosts: Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Limerick (Ireland), London (UK), Orlando (USA), and Paris (France). Without seeing the Requests for Information (the bidding documents do have a huge impact on the selection process), my money is on Paris. And I'd be shocked if Orlando were chosen. Wherever it is, I know it'll be just like every other Gay Games: A week of incredible memories.
