Liz Carmouche scored a TKO in the second round against Jessica Andrade in the first UFC fight featuring two out lesbians Saturday night. It was also the first time a female UFC fight was broadcast on network television.
Bloody Elbow's account of the fight:
Andrade got off to a good start, getting up after a Carmouche takedown and getting her own, looking to sink a guillotine near the end of the first round. The second round was a different story though. Carmouche got a takedown and moved to mount, dropping punches and elbows for two minutes while Andrade struggled to defend. Finally Herb Dean had seen enough and awarded Carmouche the second-round TKO victory.
