Women's basketball figures speak out in powerful new video

Some big names of women's basketball, including Lin Dunn, talk about the impact of inclusion in sports.

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Br{ache The Silence have released a new video that aims to empower people women's basketball.

The video, titled "The Time Is Now," features some big names from across the spectrum of the world of women's basketball, including:

  • Portland State head women's basketball coach Sherri Murrell
  • LSU head women's basketball coach Nikki Caldwell
  • WNBA Chief of Basketball Operations Renee Brown
  • San Diego State assistant coach Jesse Clark
  • Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White
  • University of LaVerne head coach Julie Shaw
The men and women in the sport talk about times when they felt marginalized. From the press release:

The 3-minute, 13-second video features individuals from college and professional women's basketball, as well as espnW, speaking about a time when he or she felt marginalized and what inclusion now means to them. The goal of the video is to help all members of the women's basketball community feel valued and respected, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
