Watch: UMass hosts LGBT athlete discussion

UMass athletic department hosts conversation about LGBT athletes the evening gay basketball player Derrick Gordon came out publicly.

In the wake of Derrick Gordon's public coming out today, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst will host a panel discussion tonight, April 9, at 6pm to talk about LGBT athletes and homophobia in sports.

The panel will include Pat Griffin and You Can Play's Wade Davis, both of whom worked with Gordon and UMass over the last couple of weeks on the basketball player's coming out. Kate Fagan will be there to discuss her reporting on the story for ESPN. Former college basketball player and UMass professor Neferftiti Walker, from the department of sports management, will also be on hand.
