The annual Sin City Shootout takes place this weekend in Las Vegas, and the Tropicana – the host hotel for the event – is already hopping! I got here two hours ago and the entire casino seems to be packed with LGBT athletes – I've already met athletes from across the country playing dodgeball, softball and football.
The event hosts thousands of athletes in 18 sports and rivals the Gay Games in number of participants. Everything from Ultimate (wish I was playing) to flag football (I'm officiating) to golf (I so wish I was better at it) is offered. Plus there are the prerequisite parties each night at various locations around Las Vegas.
The organization of the event already seems top-notch. Compete magazine has even put together a really great printed program for the event.
