Why I love women's college sports

Over the past four years (since retirement, actually), I have become a huge fan of women's college sports -- ice hockey, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and basketball in particular. Now if you haven't seen a women's game, let me tell you, you are missing good sport.

By good sport, fans get to see the game the way it is supposed to be played -- strategy, finesse, speed, good passing, etc. No in your face body slamming like the men. And this is why I have come to enjoy the women's game so much.

Today I will see the University of Vermont women lacrosse team take on UMBC. The UVM Catamounts (Cats) are having a good season -- today's game is the league opener for both teams. I look forward to the game.

I will report back on this game -- hopefully I can post some photos as well.

Go Cats.
