When people talk about what athletes have the best bodies, it's always a matter of taste. Some like lean swimmers or triathletes, others burly wrestlers or offensive lineman, still others the athletic but more "regular" bodies of a baseball player. But almost all are in agreement that male gymnasts are right up there.

Sure, they're kind of short for some, but their sport builds their bodies through what amounts to progressive resistance on a daily basis. There is no such thing as an unfit competitive gymnast. This fact was on display at the Pan-Am Games in Toronto. It was a great event for the Team USA men, who won their first team gold in 20 years. In addition, Sam Mikulak won the all-around gold and two bronzes; Donnell Whittenburg won three silvers and Paul Ruggeri won a bronze.
