Snowboarder Shaun White didn't shy away from Gay Ski Week in Mammoth this weekend, as the Olympic champion stopped by an après ski on Saturday. According to Alan Harvey, in the photo above on the right, White was at Mammoth doing a promotion for Oakley. Sorry guys, White wasn't using Gay Ski Week to make a big statement about his dating habits.
Earlier this year White, known years ago as 'The Flying Tomato' for his snowboarding acrobatics and his red hair, bought a minority stake in Mammoth Mountain. White has won two Olympic gold medals, both in the halfpipe. He has 15 X-Games gold medals (the most in X-Games history), including 13 in the Winter X-Games.
Mammoth Gay Ski Week has been taking place in the mountains several hours between Los Angeles and San Francisco for years, and is produced by Los Angeles-based event promoter Tom Whitman.
Nobody should be surprised an athlete like White would take a moment out of his weekend to say hey to the gays. Still, we're glad he did!
