In the wake of Curt Schilling's impending and eventual firing from ESPN earlier this year for his posting of a grotesque anti-trans Facebook message, Schilling and his family campaigned hard to paint him as a caring man who understood trans issues and who welcomed trans people into his life and his home. It was "all the media's fault" that Schilling seemed to be anything less than totally supportive of trans people.

Yet yesterday Schilling was back at it, posting the following message on Facebook that (jokingly, of course) claimed you have to be nuts to think Caitlyn Jenner is a woman:

It's almost unfathomable to think that Schilling believes he is some pro-trans guy, yet that's the narrative he and his family have put out there despite continuing to insist on posting messages like this that demean the experiences of trans people.

Of course he'd say "it's just a joke" and "get a sense of humor." But in the context of the last 12 months in the life of Curt Schilling, this seems like much more than a bad joke.
