Emmonnie Henderson took home a bunch of hardware from the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championship last weekend. The Univ. of Louisville hurler won the shot put, took second in the weight throw, and was named the conference Indoor Field MVP.

Henderson has dominated the shot put in the ACC the last couple of years. According to Henderson it was her fourth conference shot put title and third MVP award. Henderson flirted with an Olympic run last year.

Henderson came out publicly on Outsports last autumn, having just proposed marriage to her girlfriend, Aleva Simpson. The two are set to get married in St. Louis in July 2018.

The Louisville women’s track & field team finished fourth overall at the ACC championship, its best finish since joining the conference.

Henderson will now head to the NCAA National Indoor Championship next week, held in College Station, Texas, and hosted by Texas A&M.
