It's always a good time when you get to interview a friend. But when your friend happens to be snowboarding legend Cheryl Maas — the first Dutch woman ever to medal at the X Games with two Olympic appearances under her belt, and the first woman to land a switch backside 900 in any slopestyle competition — you start to think you have some pretty cool friends.

It was an absolute joy to catch up with Maas and watch her compete in the X Games in the country where she now calls her home, Norway.

She is a very accomplished veteran of snowboarding, and it has been said that she has "some of the best style in the game.” She has a contagious energy and spirit about her and lights up any room (or competition) that she enters.

Maas is married to X Games gold medalist Stine Brun Kjeldaas, and they have two beautiful daughters together.

Maas and I met in Aspen, Colo., at X Games and we had an instant connection. I've always said, "Your Vibe attracts your tribe," and she and I share the same love of life and live for the moment attitude.

I was so thrilled to do this interview with such a strong, passionate and beautiful person truly living her truth. I'm blessed to call her my friend.
