United States soccer legend Abby Wambach married her girlfriend, Glennon Doyle Melton, according to various reports on social media.
Wambach posted this photo on Instagram this afternoon, featuring herself and Melton sharing an intimate moment on their special day:
Wambach dated the photo May 14, 2017, presumably the date of their actual wedding. The couple got engaged in February.
Earlier in the day the couple posted this picture on Instagram with a somewhat subtle message most fans didn’t pick up on immediately:
Last year Wambach and her former wife divorced shortly after the soccer star’s arrest for DUI. At the time she also revealed her abuse of prescription drugs.
Just as marriage and divorce are new to the gay community, so is picking up the pieces, finding love and walking down the aisle a second time.
Melton was also previously married and has three children with her ex-husband, Craig Melton. She is a Christian blogger writing about families and motherhood.
