Openly gay Olympic silver skiing medalist Gus Kenworthy is a contestant on the new MTV series “The Challenge: Champs vs. Pro,” which airs tonight at 9 p.m. EDT.

The show is a spin-off from “The Challenge” and will feature 10 champions from “The Challenge” facing off against 10 professional athletes in physical challenges in a quest for $50,000.

While the 10 Challenge champions are competing for themselves, the professional athletes are competing for charity. Kenworthy is competing for the Happy Hippie Foundation and the Trevor Project, two pro-LGBTQ causes. Kenworthy’s sports goal in the next year is to qualify for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The series will run for six episodes.
