In a sea of fundraisers that are hard to distinguish from one another, the LA LGBT Center has come up with a unique way of taking to the streets, raising money and smiling the whole way.
The Glitter Run will take place in Hollywood on Sunday, Aug. 20. The hook? While runners are traverse the streets of Los Angeles, they will be “gently coated in seven colors of non-toxic washable glitter while passing through seven glitter stations.”
And you thought the unicorn frappuccino was exciting!
The run is a 5k that will take participants past landmarks like the Chinese Theater and the Capital Records Building. While other fundraisers require you to ask friends and family for donations, this one just requires an entry fee of $70 by June 30 or $85 after that. Kids 12 and under get glittered for free.
Everybody gets into the big dance-and-mimosas party after the race. Duh.
