Bradley Kim, the gay Air Force football player who came out publicly earlier this year, has put his music talents to work in hopes of giving people who need it a big lyrical hug.

In what he says is the first song he has written and produced, called “Not Alone,” Kim has created an emotive folk song reminiscent of the likes of Simon and Garfunkel. You can take a listen to his song above.

Kim told Outsports the song is called “Not Alone” because “no one will ever be alone in this world.”

He wrote on Instagram:

This song is for those who feel trapped by their circumstance and feel like they don’t have anyone to turn to – something I felt growing up. I’m inspired by those who are confidently able to be their genuine selves, but feel for those who aren’t because I’ve been on both sides. It’s not fun to feel like you can’t be yourself for fear of judgement, so I just wanted to spread love and let everyone know that you will never be alone in this world.

Kim sent us the lyrics, which you can read along with listening:

Hold on to me
When it feels like you can’t breathe
It’s been so long since You’ve been yourself
I know just how you feel
You hide behind a wall of steel
It becomes unclear which side is true

Just know
Yeah just know
You’re not alone
You’re not alone
I’m right here

It’s never easy to
Reveal what’s true to you
But I’ll be there right by your side

But don’t let time go by
And let your true self die
it’s hard to believe but you’ll be alright

(Bridge)
There’s strength in knowing that
There are numbers on your side
You are strong
Don’t let them drag you down
You are perfect how you are
You are strong

Just know
Just know that in this world
You will never
Never be
Alone
