Taylor Emery and her teammates have the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team off to a hot start, winning all three of their games by double digits. While the Hokies haven’t cracked the NCAA women’s basketball Top-25 quite yet, they are garnering a couple of points in votes.

Emery is so far leading the team in scoring, and is third on the team in both assists and rebounds. In other words, she is already proving herself worth of her preseason All-ACC Team selection.

Last year Virginia Tech also started 3-0 and missed the NCAA tournament, going all the way to the WNIT Final. The common opponent from last year to this is USC Upstate, which they beat by 20 points more this year. So either somebody’s headed on their way up, or somebody’s headed on their way down.

They likely won’t play a Top-25 team until they start their ACC schedule the first weekend of January when they play Miami and Syracuse.
