Team USA has three publicly out LGBTQ athletes, the most of any country at these 2018 Winter Olympics.

At the Opening Ceremony, Brittany Bowe took the opportunity to snap this photo of herself with the two out gay guys, Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy:

Being LGBTQ is king of like being a part of a giant, worldwide club. It’s kind of funny that these three had to travel all the way to South Korea to finally connect as our out and proud trio.

All of them represent a first: Bowe is the United States’ first publicly out woman in the Winter Olympics, and Rippon and Kenworthy are two of the four men who are the first to be publicly out as gay at a Winter Olympic Games.

Bowe is a speed skater and former world champion. Rippon is a figure skater at his first Olympic games. And Kenworthy is a skier and Olympic silver medalist.

We’ll be cheering them all on this week!
