Openly lesbian professional football player Kaycee Clark is one of the 16 new contestants on this season of “Big Brother.”

Clark is a wide receiver for the San Diego Surge of the Women’s Football Alliance and has played for the Surge in six of the past eight seasons. In 2017, she led her team in receiving yards and in touchdowns with five.

While her football skills have very little to do with the strategy of playing a game like “Big Brother,” having the visibility of an openly gay professional football player on such a popular show is exciting.

Clark is also the first openly gay female contestant to be cast on the show since 2015, when professional poker player Vanessa Rousso placed third.

In her opening interview with Ross Matthews, she says she is open to romance on the show, under one condition.

“I’m open to anything, unless it’s being with a guy,” Clark jokingly said.

Clark is fighting for the top prize of $500,000. You can watch her on CBS when “Big Brother 20” premieres Wednesday, June 27.
