UFC will host a self-defense class for the LGBTQ community this Tuesday at the local LGBTQ Center in Las Vegas, continuing the organization’s push to embrace the community. The class is open to anyone in the community. RSVP information is below.

Leading the class will be UFC women’s bantamweight Gina Mazany. Also on hand will be Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who is the survivor of a violent carjacking that took place in early 2017. The event is being held in conjunction with Nel-Peters’ Unbreakable campaign, which is designed to train people on handling life-threatening situations.

The self-defense class will take place Tuesday, July 3, 5-7pm, at The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada. The Center LV is located at 401 South Maryland Parkway.

Mazany is a Bantamweight fighter from Anchorage, Ak., who sports a 5-2 professional record. She currently lives in Las Vegas.

UFC has taken various steps in recent years to demonstrate an embrace of the LGBTQ community. Just last week UFC sponsored Outsports Pride in New York City and sent three out LGBTQ fighters to march in the New York City Pride March alongside Outsports.

Anyone interested in joining the class should email UFC’s Brian Smith at [email protected].
