Outsports wrapped up Pride Month by teaming up with the trailblazing duathlete, Team USA and hall of fame triathlete runner and race walker Chris Mosier for a conversation about transgender inclusion in sports, in society and in activism on Instagram.

In 2015, Chris Mosier became the first known transgender man to represent the United States in international competition, and was the catalyst for change for the International Olympic Committee policy on transgender athletes. He is also a two-time national champion and the first known trans athlete to qualify for the Olympic Trials in a category different from their sex assigned at birth.

In 2016, Mosier was sponsored by Nike and featured in his own Nike commercial, which debuted on prime time during the Rio Olympics. He was the first trans athlete featured in the ESPN Body Issue.

Mosier is also known as the go-to source for policy and information on the inclusion of transgender people in sports. In 2013, he created the site transathlete.com, a resource for students, athletes, coaches, and administrators to find information about how trans athletes can compete at various levels of play. He has mentored trans athletes all around the globe, from high school and recreational to the professional levels, as well as helped teams, leagues, and professional sports leagues create gender-inclusive policies.
