Good morning. Today is August 28, 2020, and it is finally Friday. Across America, it is another day of oppression, of systemic racial inequality and institutionalized injustice for Black and brown and other non-white Americans. As we who are LGBTQ know, inequality for any one of us hurts all of us, and this problem is an intersectional one. Black gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer and most certainly Black transgender Americans are disproportionately victimized, and targeted.

Jacob Blake was only the latest Black man in America shot by white police.

His shooting, and the ongoing injustice suffered by people of color, is why nine NFL Teams and eight MLB teams joined players from the NBA, WNBA, MLS and even the NHL in a racial justice walkout.

And that is why today there are no headlines, no OutShouts, no social media highlights and no sports calendar in this space; The Huddle is on strike, too, both today and tomorrow.
